According to the Portuguese Direct Selling Institute, despite some delay, Portugal is beginning to position itself in terms of direct selling. According to this organization, in 2023, direct selling generated €170 million, an attractive figure in a market that is still growing. Data for 2023 at the European level also show that the sector generated around $36 billion and recorded an increase of 3.6% over the previous year.
With around 182,000 active independent agents in Portugal, 74% of whom are women, the country has consolidated its position as the fourteenth largest direct selling market in Europe.
