One of the most efficient business and sales models for entrepreneurs and consumers.
Direct Selling
Direct selling consists of marketing products and services directly to the consumer outside a commercial establishment, including personalized and/or online demonstrations, among other means. It is widely recognized as one of the most efficient business and sales models for entrepreneurs and consumers.
Real Opportunity to Become an Entrepreneur
Direct selling constitutes a true entrepreneurial opportunity. It allows developing a personal business with low risk, autonomously and flexibly, adapting to each person’s pace and goals.

- It is the ideal choice for those who value autonomy, freedom in managing schedules, and balance between professional and personal life. In this activity, there are no limits to income or rigid hierarchical barriers. Each professional maps their own path, defines their goals, and reaps the fruits of their effort.
- The companies associated with the Portuguese Institute of Direct Selling guarantee a solid, transparent, and ethical support environment, offering continuous training, suitable tools, and consolidated business models, promoting professionalization and sustainable growth of the entrepreneur network.
- In a world that increasingly values human contact, trust, and personalization, direct selling establishes itself as a modern, ethical, and accessible way to undertake, with real economic and social impact.
- Entrepreneurship in direct selling is more than a commercial activity. It is creating value with freedom, purpose, and vision.
Ethics & Regulation
The sector is governed by ethical principles, stipulated in the IPVD Code of Ethics, and in the codes of the European Direct Selling Association (SELDIA) and the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations (WFDSA).
Their role is to ensure the relationship between direct selling companies and consumers, with the aim of providing the public with maximum satisfaction and security in their purchases.
SELDIA members, who directly and indirectly represent about 80% of the EU direct selling market, are required to adopt the European Code standards in their national codes. Companies that are part of a SELDIA member association are bound to the European Code throughout the European Union.
